How does it work?

Alpino and Mignon ranges:

The operator uses a foot pedal to bring the splitter’s wedge down, allowing the operators hands to be free to hold the timber safely in position. Once the wedge senses resistance of the timber or anything else, the wedge stops immediately, clamping the timber securely. Splitting will not continue until the operator removes their hands from the timber to operate both hand controls.

This feature is great for tall, narrow timber that might have been cut on an angle and difficult to stay upright. Also, great for producing kindling.

Magik and Super Magik ranges, there are 2 options:

Option 1 – With intermediate table

The operator uses the foot pedal while holding the timber safely in position and the splitting wedge descends. Once the wedge senses resistance it stops immediately, clamping the timber securely. Splitting will not continue until the operator removes their hands from the timber to operate both hand controls.

Option 2 – without intermediate table

The operator places one hand on the hand control and the other on the timber allowing the splitting wedge to decend. Once the wedge senses resistance it stops immediately, clamping the timber securely. Splitting will not continue until the operator removes their hand from the timber to operate both hand controls.
